As easy as some people make it look, underwater cosplaying is actually challenging for both the cosplayer and the photographer. After seeing underwater cosplays pop up online quite a number of cosplayers have attempted to have an underwater photoshoot without being fully prepared of what it is that they will have to be dealing with during the shoot.
Glamorous as the outcome of the photos we see online maybe, those are it is obviously NOT prepared the same way as cosplaying on a regular day. Normal make up would obviously by not an option and water proof makeup doesn’t work either. Eyelash glues come off, normal powder and foundation will wear cake off, and contact lenses underwater? Ouch, don’t even think about it. So cosplayers have to work around that!
The latter being said, I have tons of respect for those like Hong Kong-based cosplayer, Kim, and her photographer who successfully produced a wonderful output with underwater cosplay. Her Inori Yuzuriha (Guilty Crown)cosplay turned out beautifully.
