Bury Me Deep

Jigoku Shoujo: Yoi no Togi episode 4 is titled “Bury Me Deep”. This may sound so grim but this is about Sakura who was placed in a nursing home that looks elegant in the outside but the truth is, they are treated poorly.

After reading some comments about the return of Jigoku Shoujo and there are people who are not so happy about the return because the episodes doesn’t seem to focus on the main characters. For this anime, the story of each characters were already told from season 1 to season 3 and I think that this season is more telling the stories of the people who contacts Hell Girl.

It’s same type of set up as Yami Shibai (although this was released later than Jigoku Shoujo) and Sekai no Yami Zukan where there is no major story line to follow. Each episode is unique and there may be related episodes where you can reference the story from such as this episode. Tsugumi Shibata works as a caregiver in this episode. If you have watched season 1, she’s the kid of the author, Hajime Shibata, and both of them tracked down the history of Enma Ai centuries before.

Tsugumi Shibata also appeared on season 3 but her face was not shown on the episodes. That time she was working as a school nurse in Yuzuki Mikage’s school. Now, although season 3 have different stories, Yuzuki Mikage on season 3 is being possessed by Enma Ai whenever someone pulls the red string.

On this episode, there seems to be some inconsistencies though. One I’ve noticed is that Tsugumi Shibata mentioned while talking to Sakura that it’s her first job but on season 3, she was already working as a school nurse. Maybe she meant that it was her first time to work in a nursing home and not actually her first work? I guess we’ll find out on the other episodes.
