Asphyxia Noir is perfection

This slinky offering from BlueBlood’s Amelia G and Forrest Black features Asphyxia Noir. She is giving a few rather important makeup tips here and I might have to try the eyelash thing out. Before I get into how good Blue Blood is, I need to say this–this shoot has the perfect shot. I don’t mean ‘the most perfect shot in the shoot’ or even ‘the most perfect shot Blue Blood has done’ but THE perfect shot. I can’t show it (not safe for work!) but it really is amazing.

The shot that I can’t show takes Asphyxia Noir’s strength of eye/face posing and skyrockets it to a whole new level. We see the sepia tones throughout, but this particular photo has her sitting on the makeup desk. Her back is to the mirror and she is exposed in every direction. The moment really is my favorite of all time. Her scar shows up like an old lover and it adds to this picture. Everything about this, from the mirror play to her sitting closed kneed looking out into the lens, works. She’s half porcelain doll and half punk in this one. The necklace plays into the punk side (as do some of her tattoos) but the rest is all doll. There is a softness and yet it is rather hard in spots (her veins pop here on one side and the other smooths out). I really really wish I could share this picture with you, but I can’t.

When you do look through the set for yourself, make sure you check the shot out I just described. You couldn’t do yourself a better favor.

Whoops! I flew too close to the sun on that one, and almost forgot to add a few SAFE for work pictures! Here you go!

While Forrest Black was doing a complicated lighting set-up for the next thing we were going to shoot with Asphyxia Noir, I liked what she looked like putting makeup on in the mirror, so we just had to shoot this too. Although she is not licensed in Los Angeles, as California has super intensive requirements for cosmetology licenses, she actually did a lot of pro makeup training on the east coast and it shows in her style here. Makeup tip: Asphyxia used two sets of eyelashes to enhance her own, for that extra gothic sexy look.
