After almost a decade, The Mummy will have a reboot movie but Brendan Fraser will not reprise his starring role this time. Tom Cruise, known for doing his own stunts, will be taking the starring role as Tyler Colt and Sofia Boutella as The Mummy.
The team are currently filming for the movie and there’s a little we know about it. The release date has been moved several times until finally settled to June 9, 2017.
The story is about an ancient queen (Boutella) who was awakened to the present day and brings malevolence and terror. The story is somewhat different from the one a decade ago but then, it was also loose remake of 1932 The Mummy movie. It would be boring to watch the same old movie and only different actors, right?
