For so many times, others had tried to make a live action series version of Archie comics, but none had made it to the mainstream. Many had tried but today, in 2017, CW and Netflix had successfully launched a new Archie comics live action version, Riverdale.
As one of the avid fans of Archie comic (specifically Jughead comic series since they are more enjoyable in my own opinion), other earlier versions not only upset me but disappointed me because they weren’t able to really give me this flavor of what Archie comics live action should be. The jokes, punch lines, are there, but there’s always something missing.
Riverdale just aired on January 27, 2017 on CW and on Netflix but it created a lot of noise already after few weeks. Maybe it was because there are still a lot of Archie Comics fans out there amidst the internet replacing the comics that we oh-so-loved in the past before technology took over, because Ms. Grundy was a very hot chic and not old, because Archie, Reggie and Jughead looked so damn hot, because Veronica is tolerable in this version (and we love it!), Betty being Betty…and the list goes on and on.
I just had to mention, though, that Cole Sprouse made an amazing portrayal of Jughead and it is not because I’m a fan of Suite Life of Zack and Cody before but because that’s how fans look at Jughead in the comics version — he’s mysterious, he doesn’t like to hog the limelight but he’s there. Camilla Mendes made a great portrayal of this toned down version of Veronica, which I think is new (since Veronica Lodge portrayals in the past are always rich spoiled brat),and the rest are just perfect.
There are a lot of episodes to come. So, if you don’t want to miss any of the episodes, you can create and account right now on Netflix if you still don’t have an account and watch all series of Riverdale.
