Not only have these items become sought-after by collectors, but vocaloid cosplayers look forward to the release of the new designs each year. Chinese cosplayer, Youya is one of the many vocaloid cosplayers who go to lengths just to create a visually appealing and memorable portrayal of Hatsune Miku.
Over the years since the release of VOCALOID, there has been a myriad of cosplays of the virtual idol, Hatsune Miku. This virtual diva’s popularity led her to become the face of various product advertisements such as Toyota and Lux. In 2008, Good Smile company decided to become a primary sponsor of Studie GLAD Racing. Using a car featuring illustrations of Hatsune Miku, this participant team to the GT300 race division of the SUPER GT racing series took first place and title of champion in Japan’s class series race in 2011. These designs were officially called “Racing Miku”.
