Things start off on the right foot (for us anyway, wrong foot for Codex) when she tells Roy, the head artist for The Game, that she’s a huge fan. His response is, “Me too, …of this cubicle” and off he wheels away in his chair. That snarky, deadpan response was so unexpected and tickled me right away. I really hope there’s more of these cold openings with him in the future.
As far as Codex goes, the entire episode revolves around a meeting where they unveil the (hopefully) new expansion pack – an underwater sea castle! Right off the bat the thing running through my head was that I wanna be paid to make arts and crafts for work. It’s work nonetheless, but you get to play with a glue gun, paint, and hang little sea creatures (sharky!) onto it – I’m writing up my resume asap for that gig!
Once I snapped back to reality, I couldn’t help but think back to a couple things I loved as a kid – The Little Mermaid and Ecco the Dolphin. A beautiful redhead with an even prettier singing voice and a game that to this day I love to play but irritates the shit out of me. So with that being said, I’m on board with this expansion. Floyd unfortunately, is not. His ‘yes, no, maybe’ decision making reminded me of myself trying to give a straight answer. On the spot decision making and I am fucked. Ha!
Of course, Codex aside, Vork and Zaboo once again had a funny exchange revolving around the lady in Vork’s life. Who knew people still got upset by cyber stalking, ahem, finding out a little more about someone via the internet. I thought that was pretty common these days – it’s the main reason I use basic phrases as usernames online – haha, find me now potential dates! You don’t know if that’s me that likes Hello Kitty and NIN or some socially confused high school chick! Haha…jokes on you! Wait, or is it…
