April 1 is Sin City Opening

500

It is not possible to choose when one goes into labor or at least it is technologically difficult. For some reason, opening an important film on April Fools Day seems wrong to me. The Sin City movie opens today nonetheless. It is of course based on the seminal Frank Miller comics. The flick is apparently directed mostly by Robert Rodriguez and somewhat by Frank Miller and just a bit by Quentin Tarantino. Not sure how that would work logistically, but I think this might be the first time the screen really brings a comic book to life. Kind of like the treatment that Chuck Palahniuk’s Fight Club got on the silver screen, this may be a time when a movie actually surpasses the printed pages it is based on.
