Here’s another interesting post-apocalyptic anime series for you after you watch Japan Sinks 2020.
7 Seeds is based on a manga series of the same name that was published in 2001 (Bessatsu Shōjo Comic) until 2017 (Flowers magazine 2002 – 2017).
In June 2019, the first season was released on Netflix and the second season was released on the same platform on March 26, 2020.
The story revolves on the healthy young people who were preserved through cryogenics. These people were preserved into 5 groups with 7 people in each group, including 1 guide who will help them survive. However, they woke up from cryonic preservation on different times. There’s a group that woke up 15 years earlier than the others. The groups were named after the 4 seasons, Summer (A & B), Winter, Fall and Spring. The team members were put into each group based on their names.
It makes you wonder, what would you do if you wake up and everything and everyone you knew already died? And the world you knew isn’t what the world you’re living in right now? The world somehow looked the same as what was portrayed in Japan Sinks 2020, where almost everything is submerged in water but only that the world was destroyed by meteorites and the government planned ahead to send only the best people to the future… although there’s Summer Group B, which consists of drop outs and only Ms. Botan, the group’s guide, knows why they’re there. Group B only remembered the day before they were taken to their cryogenic sleep.
7 Seeds is divided into 3 seasons/parts and the part 3 was rumored to be released some time in 2021.
