This is taking me out because Maplemaya is somehow instantly recognizable as Mario while also looking like Mario got put through a hot update.
The red cap, the little braids, the suspenders, the blue bottoms, it’s all there. Nobody on earth is looking at this and thinking wow, maybe that is Luigi. Absolutely not. This is Mario, just with a lot more attitude. And I love the room! The question blocks, the mushrooms, the whole setup looking like someone turned level one of the Mushroom Kingdom into a bedroom and then made it a little cursed. It feels like if I hit one of those floating blocks and instead of a coin, this version of Mario popped out and made the entire franchise so much better.
So yes, mario it’s-a-her is correct. Maplemaya did not just save the princess because she replaced the entire game.
