MalaikaBrown is doing exactly what a Rogue look is supposed to do: show up, steal the scene and leave everybody else feeling a little underpowered.
The green-and-yellow bodysuit is instantly recognizable. I feel like I’m back on Saturday morning with all the X-Men on my screen again. That jacket is doing a lot of heavy lifting too, because without it you have a superhero suit, but with it you have Rogue specifically, the woman who looked like she could absorb your powers, your man and your existence in one clean motion. It is practical enough to feel like superhero gear, but still dramatic enough to say yes, this is a woman who has probably absorbed at least three powers and one bad decision before lunch.
There is also a nice bit of comic irony in how clean and put-together the look is, because Rogue as a character is rarely allowed five minutes of peace. If MalaikaBrown ever needed a modern reminder that her look still clears, this would be it!
