A game with sword as a title but with a wizard? Granado Espada or Grand Sword The world of Granado Espada takes place on a newly discovered continent based on the Americas during the Age of Exploration. The world is divided into different maps and grouped into themed regions such as forests, tropical jungles, plains, swamps, deserts and ice fields. This is not any typical MMORPG since instead of controlling one character as your own, you control a group of three to roam.
Our cosplay topic for today is one of the class in Granado Espada and it’s obviously the Wizard class because of the things I said before. The Wizard is one of the playable classes in Granado Espada, a Korean fantasy MMORPG developed by IMC Games Co.,Ltd. Granado Espada features a unique art style based on the Baroque period of Europe, differing from the standard “sword and sorcery” fantasy themes of the genre.
Our cosplayer for today is Yaya Han. She is a costume designer, model and cosplay entertainer with over a decade of experience. After discovering cosplay at Anime Expo in 1999, she quickly absorbed the heart and soul of costume design and creation. To this day Yaya has made close to 300 costumes in the genres of anime/manga, comic books, video games, sci-fi and her own original designs.
At a first glance, you’ll might mistake that this costume is one easy to make but for you information this was made for 4 weeks including the gathering of the materials. But without that knowing, you will really see that this costume is not that easy to make if you observe it closely. Why? That’s because of the sleeves which is made out of a multi layered fabric for the first half and another multi layered fabric with feathers for the second half. The bra obviously is part of the costume lol. I also love the skirt here which is cropped infront but went long at the rear. If you went to Dragoncon, AWA, or Saboten Con last 2010 you might have seen this cosplay, it also appeared in the last Sakuracon in 2011.
