I’ve always liked the limitless potential that Pikachu was shown to have since the beginning of the Pokemon anime. It felt somehow motivational, like the character’s true limitations existed only inside its own mind, and that if it managed to work past doubts and fear, it could do incredible things that even defied what was perceived as possible.
And they achieved that without giving the character any lines other than its own name, which is even more extraordinary.
