Blue Blood’s Barely Evil #6 – The return of the fuzzy slippers!

539

Barely Evil #6 is out and darn if it isn’t the most beautiful thing you ever did see. From the BlueBlood team of Amelia G and Forrest Black (Forrest Black is the Creative Director with Amelia G the EIC and darn if that combo ain’t award-winning!), Barely Evil is everything a young Jim wanted and more.

To start, we have to give a big Congrats!!! to the BlueBlood team for getting inducted into the AltPorn Hall of Fame! That’s right Amelia G and Forrest Black are joining the likes of Joanna Angel, Small Hands, and Masuimi Max! If that isn’t an alt industry Bingo card, I don’t know what is. I’ve been able to cover the best in alt and sexy for nearly two decades and I have to say, hands down, this year’s HOF inductees are the most talented individuals I’ve seen in this culture. All the HOFers are well deserved and I can’t wait to see what they do next.

I also can’t wait to figure out how the heck to get these Black Craft Cult Lucipurr Slippers!! They are so cute!!! If you haven’t seen them yet, I’ve included a photo below. Aren’t they just….purrrrrrfect? Plus, they are (almost) the only thing remotely safe for work in this magazine!

What else do we get in this jam-packed issue? What do you think is in an issue made by BlueBlood? Awesomeness, of course! We’ve got killer photoshoots and interviews with Evie Rees (I never wanted to be a piece of candy so bad in my life), Lydia Lashes (the little devil shoot is sultry and punk combined into one flash of brilliance), and Lum Cakes (gotta check her hair and makeup out! God, I wish I knew how to get mine like that!).

Speaking of brilliance, Amelia G’s fiction “Spit” holds center stage. I have to say, I really love the stories Amelia G pens. It is the world we are most familiar with that when seen through a different lens, can reveal inner truths about oneself. That is one of Amelia G’s strengths in photography and it is something she reproduces in her fiction. I won’t spoil the story for you, but check this turn of phrase: “When everything in your city is closed, you can’t even storm out well after a conversation like that.”

Not only is great fiction a centerpiece of the magazine, but great art is, too. Art in the terms of Liquid Red Lingerie and their rather impressive drive behind the fashion, and probably my new art crush, John John Jesse brings the magazine home with a great set of visual nightmares (aka my next tattoo idea!). I love the use of the demonic with the every day. My favorite image is the snort. I can’t show you the entire thing (you’ll have to get Barely Evil #6 yourself for that) but I will leave you with a (slightly) censored version that’s a bit more SFW friendly.

The amazing thing about Barely Evil is that any one of these things can be the focus of their own art book and yet we have a great deal of looks, thoughts, and spells all fitting snuggly into one magazine (much like my feet will into a Lucipurr once they come back in stock!). Don’t believe me? Check it out for yourself here. Looks like the magazine is now distributed by Zinetastic, who also distribute SexyFandom’s magazine Bazowie!
