Batgoddess Yaya Han

Batman really got the moves. Batman is one lucky and charismatic bastard. I mean he got Robin, Batgirl, Nightwing and many dudes who may take his place. Besides that he doesn’t only have one Robin, there are many Robins like Jason Todd, Helena Wayne and Dick Grayson to name some AND there’s no one Batgirl, there is Betty kane, Cassandra Cain, Michelle Carter, Stephanie Brown, Harleen Quinzel(yes. the bad chick) and the most popular Barbara Gordon. For this lovely cosplay today, we’ll talk about Barbara Gordon, the Batgirl.

batgirl-jasonchau_600_923_sBatgirl is one of Batman’s side-kicks and a member of the Batman Family similar to Robin. She patrols Gotham City fighting crime using her mastery of the martial arts, her wits, and an arsenal of high-tech gadgets. She is the niece of Commissioner Gordon, and the original in modern continuity. She was Batgirl for many years until the Joker shot her through the spine during Killing Joke and paralyzed her. Barbara still fought crime from her wheel-chair as Oracle.

Our cosplayer for today is Yaya Han. She is a costume designer, model and cosplay entertainer with over a decade of experience. After discovering cosplay at Anime Expo in 1999, she quickly absorbed the heart and soul of costume design and creation. To this day Yaya has made close to 300 costumes in the genres of anime/manga, comic books, video games, sci-fi and her own original designs.

This kind of cosplay is kinda new to me since sexiness and cuteness isn’t emphasized here. It’s common nowaday to cosplay something sexy or cute but I know cosplay isn’t all about that, it’s about portraying someone you idolize. Besides, Yaya Han cosplayed this because of the challenge of making and portraying this cosplay. For the cosplay, the rubber materials took around 16 hours to build. That’s testing each test piece, each mold and each cast to finish drying. The chest piece and shoulder armor are made of plastic as well as the urethane rubber for the abs. Undersuit was made from a shiny and matte stretch pleather. I personally love here is the cape which is very eye catching because of the gold pleather underneath. The Gauntlets also has it’s show which is also covered in the same gold as the cape. Don’t forget about the batman logo as well I love how it was carved to match her chest.

Yaya Han is an exceptional cosplayer with a great talent for both modelling and tailoring her costumes let’s at least support her by following her on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube Channel and DeviantArt. Let’s also support her photographer Brian Boling Photography.
