I’m really excited that virtual events are really starting to hit their stride. I can’t attend by jacking into the matrix yet, but I’m seeing more and more truly enjoyable events.
The 2020 AltPorn Awards, presented by MyFreeCams, was a spectacular success as a virtual event. I loved the red carpet hosted by April Flores, whose striking good looks and warm personality sparkled as she interviewed some of my favorite streamers, models, and other creative people. I was personally especially excited by how many cosplayers were in the mix and I’m looking forward to us doing our own event where we can recognize even more excellence in cosplay.
Jeffrey Damnit and Malice McMunn were hilarious announcing the AltPorn Awards winners. It was really fun hanging out in the chat where everyone attending could interact and everyone was really nice to each other and really showed how much this is a community. The most important aspect of fandoms for me is always the sense of community and I was really impressed with how strong a sense of community I felt in this virtual event.
