James St. James’ Transformations series is always a fascinating look at drag makeup, especially when it goes into the more extreme ends of the artform. In this episode the intriguing Salvia is giving James a look that is a in her own unique and innovative style. She starts things off by gluing some straws between the top of his nose to his forehead, using some latex to solidify them in place… a process that takes quite a long time. With a little Cinema Secrets wax she makes some horns on his head and while it dries she shows him some little toys of hers while they discuss Leigh Bowery doing enemas onto his audience. A Kryolan Paint Stick is used for the foundation, and is applied all over James’ head and then Salvia puts some contacts in his eyes with the help of her assistant Parma Ham.
Some white Ben Nye powder is applied to the eyes before using some Nyx eye shadow to create a dramatic look swooping upwards. Some freckles and more of the eyeshadow on the lips finish up the look and James is now looking like a creation right from the mind of the amazing and talented Salvia!
