Makoto Shinkai is the Japanese director behind wonderful, amazing and unforgettable Japanese animated movies such as 5 centimeters per second, Voices of a distant star and The Garden of Words. Trust me, if it is a Makoto Shinkai anime, then it is definitely going to pinch your heart a bit and leave a mark forever. His animated movies are known for believing in the powers of love and the miracles it can do. Surely, it was hard for me to recover from “5 centimeters per second” before but I found out that this genius of a writer is once again brewing another animated movie, Kimi No Na Wa (Your Name).
They released a trailer and shortly, lots of people posted it on YouTube. As expected from the master himself, there’s so little information on the trailer that it makes you want to watch the entire movie!
The characters in this movie are Mitsuha and Taki. Mitsuha is a simple girl who lives in a town in the mountains, but wants to live in the city. Taki, on the other hand, is a student and at the same time, a part-time waiter in an Italian restaurant.
One day, Mitsuha dreamt about Taki and the same goes with Taki but they never knew each other. It’s not your typical story line because this one is a Makoto Shinkai animated movie so I can say that you expect the unexpected, prepare a box of tissue and make sure that your heart and mind is prepared for this movie because this one is surely going to be another unforgettable movie.
This will be open in Japan in August 2016, and it is said that Makoto Shinkai spent his entire 2015 only on this film. Talk about dedication!
I know you are excited as I am! You may watch the film’s trailer through their official website.
