For a ship girl named after her origin place, Belfast, this cosplay is looking quite oriental. As to why, there is a perfectly good explanation and it has nothing to do with history but has a lot to do with promotional game skins.
Earlier in the year, the game developers of the ship girl laden game called Azur Lane announced “Belfast – Iridescent Rose” which is a new skin or costume for the character and it seems to be oriental-inspired. While some players felt like this new skin doesn’t quite fit Belfast’s persona, some players had no trouble forking out some gems and switching to this new skin in the blink of an eye and it seems in the same manner, this cosplayer under the pseudonym, Nancy, also had no trouble deciding to cosplay Belfast in all her oriental beauty glory.
