SexyFandom has never run a nude image. The Sexy Fandom Tumblr posts images from SexyFandom.com articles, so it has also unsurprisingly never run a nude image either. Today, I noticed that I had a number of emails from Tumblr, claiming Tumblr had discovered adult content on the my Sexy Fandom Tumblr photo blog. All the messages were identical to the one quoted below and none specified what post or gave an easy way to email back. So I logged into Tumblr and, after clicking around a bit, I found the top objectionable post is one which includes a photo of Stephen Amell’s impressive abs.
Back in 2013 and 2014, Raygun Robyn, a talented clothing designer and writer and a friend of the nice people who host this site, wrote a bunch of really enjoyable witty articles about fandom-related topics. You can see all of her posts from her author link here. Along with covering unicorn shoes and Game of Thrones recaps, she recapped a lot of episodes of Arrow from the CW. I’m guessing that one of her interests in the show was that star Stephen Amell is very committed to his workout routine. She also wrote about his workout routine and, if you look at his abs, you will see I’m not really guessing. Stephen Amell is a very nice-looking gentleman.
I had seen that the autocrats at Apple were giving Tumblr and its app a hard time and that Tumblr inexplicably decided to censor way beyond what even Apple was demanding. But seriously? I have to “appeal” having had the temerity to post a pic of a CW actor’s torso region? Stephen Amell really does have a great body, but I don’t think anyone is going to be scarred for life if they browse past a photo of it. I’d like to not have to waste time going through whatever else has been “flagged” by a social network which defines their terms as:
What is “adult content?”
Adult content primarily includes photos, videos, or GIFs that show real-life human genitals or female-presenting nipples, and any content—including photos, videos, GIFs and illustrations—that depicts sex acts.
And apparently also photos of any actor who plays a superhero with a better body than whoever is doing this ridiculous Puritan flagging. That Stephen Amell really is handsome though.
