After Pokemon had become a world-wide phenomenon, a huge number of cute monster-based franchises have begun to surface. One franchise that gained a lot of success is Digimon, also known as, Digital Monsters. It’s not surprising that cosplayers gravitate towards portraying the characters from Digimon because of the humanoid characters. In Pokemon, unless you wanna stick to cosplaying the trainers, most of the cosplays of the monsters always ends up in a “gijinka”, meaning a cute anthropomorphism of the Pokemon characters.
This masked cosplayer spotted at the CICF 2018 turned a lot of heads as it brought the Digimon character, Angewomon, to life and along with it the nostalgia of watching the classic anime which to this day continues to be famous within the hardcore anime and gaming community. Convention goers and photographers didn’t let the opportunity of immortalizing this moment and being able to take a photo slip.
