My one complaint about How To Train Your Dragon 2? Not enough Astrid. She’s not only a dynamic character, but she’s a driving force for plot progression in the first movie. Imagine what they could’ve done with more Astrid screen time in HTTYD2. This cosplay by Tham shows Astrid in some pretty scary war paint, and she looks even more severe here than she does in the source material… which is saying something. Kudos to BGZ Studios for great photographic presentation. It’s also pretty cool, since a stronger appearance somehow mitigates my sorrow from her lack of screen time in HTTYD2. Other than the makeup, the large ax is probably my favorite component of this cosplay.
