Another group of DC Baddies, The Royal Flush Gang, comes to town to ripoff banks and make bad choices. Ollie has his sights set on some Water and Power CEO guy but that’s set aside when Diggle pressures Ollie into caring about the little guys rather than only going after the dreaded List. Diggle makes a compelling case that everyone needs his help and Ollie reluctantly agrees.
Tommy Merlin continues to prove that he’s a total tool box and will soon become Ollie’s number one arch douche bag. I can’t believe Laurel is falling for his “No I actually have a soul” bit.
Ollie discovers that the Royal Flush gang is run by an ex-employee of the Queen Corporation who was unjustly fired by Ollie’s dad. Ollie attempts to make things right but is turned down and things end poorly. This was a nice bit of development as we see Ollie struggle with doing what is right but also trying to correct the errors of his father and become more of the hero that he doesn’t want to be.
There is some really creepy acting out by a drunk Speedy when her dumb crush on Merlin becomes clear. How very inappropriate. I have some sympathy for Speedy, but man she’s got bad taste in men. I’m sure a stint in rehab will change that! Or a job. Get her ass to a McDonalds!
It’s hard to have any kind of concern for Mama Queen now that her second husband has left her. She is kind of a wasp wench. They need more Captain Jack. Bring us Captain Jack!!
