If you are going to SDCC, god bless you. Stand in those lines, snap those photos and eat those over priced nachos. You are the true heroes. Oh the booth babes you’ll see! Oh the free swag that you’ll crush on the trip home! Oh the awkward cosplayers!
There are a ridiculous amount of panels this year and some of them will be great. Movies, shows, artists, breaking news… A Chuck panel tho? Really? If you need to know how I feel about Chuck head over to Pink Raygun for 2 years worth of reviews of that shit sandwich. (PS I totally never watched the finale. Oops.)
There are plenty of offsite events happening too. This is pretty cool, the New Children’s Museum is being taken over by Cartoon network and made into an Adventure Time experience. Um, awesome.
For the first time ever, The New Children’s Museum, located in Downtown San Diego, will be re-conceptualized to feature an exclusive, fully immersive Adventure Time experience. Inspired by two fan-favorite episodes, the Adventure Time: Keyper Seeker experience will welcome guests into this lush re-creation of the Land of Ooo! The Keyper, a beloved Adventure Time character who just happens to wear a key shaped hat, will present guests with a special key that opens one of the many doors within the secret lair of the Door Lords. Before a door will open, each guest must decipher a riddle that if successful will grant access to an extra-special prize locked inside!
The BioWare Base will be at the Gaslamp Hilton with games to play and creators to talk to. No badge required.
There are a ton of Zombie themed happenings. Zombie makeup, Zombie target practice, something about a Zombie car, all at the Future Magazine booth.
I think John Barrowman will be there but I couldn’t find any panels he’ll be on. I might have just missed it amongst all the GD info. You should double check because he loves to take his pants off.
If you’re NOT going to San Diego for Comic Con you can still get all the breaking news and panels with SpikeTV. And honestly I don’t blame you, as a SDCC veteran, I can attest that it is exciting and fun but also a nitemare of farts and walking ever so slowly.
Spike TV announced today that the network’s live “All Access” multi-platform franchise, which covers the biggest events in gaming, pop culture and technology, will return with “Comic-Con All Access Live.” The live event which airs on Spike TV, in HD, on Friday, July 13, from 4:00 – 7:00pm ET/1:00 – 4:00pm PT, will be the command center for all of the top entertainment headlines during the event, and the Comic-Con viewing party destination for fans at home. “Comic-Con All Access Live” will cover the top panels and announcements from the event, host the hottest stars of the genre, including Mark Hamill, Kevin Smith, Zachary Levi and much more.
Now I need a nap. Just reading about SDCC is overwhelming. Go with god, Nerds! And send me any hot man pics you snap.
