For years, we have watched different Amityville movies and on 2017, we will yet to witness another one, which is Amityville: The Awakening. This is already the fourteenth installment in the Amityville saga and it gets better and better through the years.
This story is about Belle, her little sister Juliet, her comatose twin brother James and their single mother Joan move into a new house in order to save money to help pay for her brother’s expensive healthcare.
Strange phenomena begins to occur in the house, including the unexplained recovery of her brother and Belle’s getting horrifying nightmares (which becomes frequent), Belle begins to suspect her mother isn’t telling her everything about the house and why specifically this house. She soon realizes they just moved into the infamous Amityville house.
This is somewhat different than the Amityville Horror I’ve watched but I found out that the original plan for this film was a completely different film titled Amityville: The Lost Tapes. I did hear about that before but did not occur to me that they changed the story. Casey La Scala and Daniel Farrands are supposed to write the Amityville: Lost Tapes which is about an ambitious female television news intern, on the verge of breaking the most famous haunted house case in the world but for some reason, the team asked the writers to write a different one, which is mysterious.
Amityville: The Awakening is set to be released on January 6, 2017 by Dimension Films, a division of The Weinstein Company.
The casts in this movie are Bella Thorne as Belle, Cameron Monaghan as James, Jennifer Jason Leigh as Joan, Mckenna Grace as Juliet and many more.
