Into the Woods really said every fairy tale gets one shared custody forest and then threw everyone inside. Cinderella is running from commitment, Jack is committing livestock-based financial crimes, Red Riding Hood is one snack away from a character arc and the Baker is out here doing side quests and FayeWilde is watching it all unfold.
The whole movie is basically consequences: the musical. Magic beans? Bad idea. Stealing from giants? Worse idea. Trusting a prince with cheekbones and no morals? Immediate debuff. Nobody in that forest has a normal problem. They all enter singing about wishes and leave with trauma, property damage, and a deep suspicion of legumes.
Every song is one step closer to finding out that happily ever after has hidden fees. FayeWilde is enjoying it though!
