You can watch full episodes of Gotham now on either Netflix or FOX.com and see Jada Pinkett Smith rocking some Divamp Couture as Maria Mercedes “Fish” Mooney. Divamp Couture also makes appearances in a number of music videos with metallic sexiness and I’d expect you’ll be seeing a lot more of their work.
Taking aesthetic inspiration from influences ranging from cyberpunk and robotics to ancient Egypt and the European Middle Ages to 70’s disco, the wearable art created by Divamp Couture is turning heads. A lot of their work looks like metal but is actually a metallic-look PVC which is much lighter-weight and thus much more suitable for costumes and cosplay or dressing like your true self.
I especially love the shiny segmented pieces and that there are designs for both men and women. It is nice that they create pret-a-porter bustiers, pauldrons, gauntlets, metal wigs, and lots of unsettling metal-look vertebrae, for those immediate festival and con-going needs. When the world finally reopens for real, some of us will need to get fabulous new outfits quickly. Fortunately, a lot of the Divamp Couture designs are gorgeous headgear, so it won’t matter that I have spent the entire last year primarily watching fandom shows on Netflix and snacking.
