Geek Girls Online Vivian Winters

geek girls online vivian wintersThe elf girls of WhoreLore are certainly slicker than Vivian Winters on Geek Girls Online. I am torn because I appreciate the Whore Lore production values, but I wish for the sincerity of someone like Vivian Winters on GGO. Here is the geeky bio Vivian Winters has on Geek Girls Online:

Occupation: Student

Favorites
Table Top/Pen and Paper RPG: Dungeons and Dragons 3.5, particularly Forgotten Realms.

Mini Bio: I’ve been running Dungeons and Dragons campaigns on and off for five years. My current campaign is set in an entirely homebrew setting with lots of political intrigue and backstabbing. When I’m not planning new adventures, I spend my time playing video games, hanging out with friends, doing classwork, and reading (or writing!) erotica.

Hustler Star Trek Porn

— Molly Case on August 15th, 2009 @ 11:57 am Costuming, Movies, Web Sites

star trek pornI assume that, if you read Sexy Fandom, you probably already know that Hustler did a Star Trek parody porn movie called This Ain’t Star Trek XXX. The movie features Sasha Grey who also recently appeared in a Steven Soderburgh movie The Girlfriend Experience playing a high end hooker. There is no science fiction in The Girlfriend Experience. I could make a case for it, but I’d just be making debaters points. Anyway, Star Trek and pornography, a match made . . . a lot of places really, if you’ve ever checked out any slash fanfic.

RIP James Doohan

— Molly Case on August 31st, 2005 @ 5:13 am General Fandom, Movies, Real Life

Today is the anniversary of the date James Doohan got his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Best known for his role as Scotty on Star Trek, the actor passed away last month, after a year long battle with Altzheimers. It is confirmed that a portion of his ashes will soon be sent into space, as were those of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry. He is survived by his wife and nine children. Interestingly, he was Canadian and was just very good at doing accents. After trying a number of accents out, the Scotty character got the Scot dialect. Doohan did the voice of Kardassian on Duckman, but he turned down the Star Trek homage/fan bitchslap episode of Futurama. Along with the original cast members who agreed, Futurama’s overly obsessed fanboy space creature had to collect Welshie, as Scotty was not available. Not only was Doohan born in Vancouver, but he served in the Royal Canadian Artillery and was injured in World War II, although Star Trek cameras shot around his missing finger and scars. He was one of many WWII veterans to come out publicly in support of Steven Spielberg’s very strong opening scene in Saving Private Ryan. A life well-lived. RIP.

Teenage Kix Likes Sexy Fandom!

— Molly Case on April 25th, 2005 @ 7:30 pm General Fandom, Real Life, Web Sites

The Teenage Kix blog uses erudite language to describe teener porno to entertaining effect. Teenage Kix had this to say about Sexy Fandom, “Something else struck me about the geek/porn interface, the excellent blog Sexy Fandom with Molly Case, which is the guide to all places where sex and genre fandom interlap, such as vampiric gothette porn and Star Trek cosplay smut. (Porn and Trek – why did it take the net so long to put these two things together!?). “

Descend from Grace Likes Sexy Fandom!

— Molly Case on April 12th, 2005 @ 11:30 pm Costuming, Real Life

The Descend from Grace blog likes Sexy Fandom. Author Janelle M. Jimenez listed amongst her five random thoughts for the day, “2 So, after getting myself into LJ discussions I really didn’t need to get involved with, I decided to start browsing random shit and came across this amusing website http://sexyfandom.com/archives/category/costuming/ This is just one of the categories in her blog, but it’s fantastic. Holy shit. There’s Star Trek porn cosplay! And…and….um, RenFaire Cosplay Porn too? Amazing. Girl in chain mail giving a dildo a blowjob, c’mon. It’s HOT. ;p”

Nice to know my, uh, research is going to good use and being appreciated. I found this mention doing a search for SexyFandom on MSN which is apparently a lot more on-topic than Google these days. It was nice to search for something on a search engine and find results which actually had to do with the search. I wish Google would fix whatever has been wrong with it recently. Anyway, this write-up in Descend from Grace really brought a smile to my face.

Kirk and Uhura’s Taboo Interracial Kiss

— Molly Case on March 31st, 2005 @ 4:05 am Movies, Real Life

Notorious playboy Captain James T. Kirk shared not only the first prime-time interracial kiss but the first televised interracial kiss in American history with Lieutenant Uhura. Given his history of bopping alien babes at every planet they beamed down to, it seems by today’s standards like kising a black chick would be ho hum. It was actually quite controversial at the time and they had to be being mind-controlled by powerful alien telepaths who love Plato to do it. Both actor William Shatner and actress Nichelle Nichols were bombarded with mail after this. Most was positive, but the content of the Plato’s Stepchildren episode was considered an explosive thing to have done on the show.

She nearly quit the show prior to the kiss. She felt that the studio was treating her in a racist manner by withholding her fan mail and other things they would not do to the white actors. Martin Luther King Jr. personally persuading her to stay on Star Trek because he felt that her role was instrumental in promoting multiculturalism and a color blind society. Dr. Mae Jemison, the first black female astronaut, says she was inspired by Uhura. Nichelle Nichols was also the first black actor to have handprints in front of Mann’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. The entire crew from ST: TOS is immortalized there.

Uhura means freedom in Swahili.

Why I Never Masturbate Thinking About Kirk

— Molly Case on March 25th, 2005 @ 12:55 pm Movies, Real Life

I was very young when I watched the original Star Trek series on a small television which was cool because it was a color television. I would have been too young in 1969 when the original series concluded, so I suppose I must have seen reruns. Star Trek is one of the most successful shows from a syndication perspective in the history of television. In fact ST:TOS (Star Trek The Original Series for the unitiated) was slated to be scrapped after its first season and fans of the show successfully staged the first serious write-in campaign on behalf of a show. Scifi fans are still more likely than any other group to petition TV stations to play what they want to see and to keep shows which networks might otherwise have assumed were unpopular. Perhaps this is because science fiction and other fantastical genres work well in a television medium, but most fans are also readers so it is natural for them to write to express themselves. Whatever the reason, sci fi fen are more likely than any other television demographic to launch a letter campaign. But I digress.

It used to really bother me that I felt like I was supposed to be attracted to Captain James T. Kirk. But I wasn’t. Not at all. Later in life, I realized that this was because, even as a young girl, I could tell when a man was a player. I have always been more interested in a real emotional connection than a random passionate clinch. Captain Kirk was just so prototypically emotionally unavailable that I could never figure out what green women saw in him. Now that I am older and hopefully more sophisticated, I understand that sometimes green girls just want to have fun too.

Those sexy aliens could tell that Kirk was narcissistic enough to make every effort to be amazing in bed and he was going to be light years away before they had to have any uncomfortable relationship conversations. Of course, sometimes women forget the distance they initially intended once they have had a really great orgasm, but Kirk was a safe choice for such foolish women too. Because he was guaranteed to turn down any offers to rule their planet, their bedroom, etc.

What was Star Trek Phase II?

— Molly Case on March 24th, 2005 @ 11:53 am General Fandom, Movies

Planned but never produced, Star Trek: Phase II was set to air in 1978. It would have put most of the original crew back onto the Enterprise for a second five-year mission. Leonard Nimoy did not agree to return as Spock, and a full-blooded Vulcan named Xon was planned in his stead. Twelve episodes were scripted. However, partly due to the popularity of the recently-released Star Wars, Paramount decided to make a Star Trek movie. The series was scrapped; however the first script became Star Trek: The Motion Picture, while two others were eventually adapted as episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation. (via Wikipedia)

Big Bottomed Girls They Make the Star Trek World Go Round

— Molly Case on March 19th, 2005 @ 5:01 am Books, Costuming, Movies, Real Life

Leonard Nimoy, best known of course for playing Spock on Star Trek, is preparing to do a book of photographs of BBW burlesque dancers. Reva Lucian’s Original Fat-Bottom Revue is billed as “A burlesque show with enough for everyone” on the Big Burlesque web site which features Leonard Nimoy in a group shot with the troupe. No, not in drag. Get your mind out of the gutter. The troupe also does body image workshops and teaches big gals to feel like Big Beautiful Women. BBWs who can tassel twirl at that. The man who was Spock is going to be shooting nudes of the members of The Fat Bottom Revue performance troupe.

Leonard Nimoy actually studied photography at UCLA in the 70’s and is currently represented by Bonni Benrubi Gallery in New York and Louis Stern Fine Art in Los Angeles. His previous photographic ventures include two illustrated books of poetry and 2002’s controversial Shekhina coffee table book. According to the Kabbalah, Shekhina is the deity’s female counterpart and when the creator got out of touch with his feminine side, evil came into the world. Yes, there are people in Los Angeles who nake a serious study of the Kabbalah. We are a little spiritually starved, in case you were wondering.

Flesh Gordon Science Fiction Porn Hardcore Classic

— Molly Case on February 17th, 2005 @ 7:11 am Movies

No site even tangentially about science fiction porn would be complete without a mention of the hardcore classic Flesh Gordon. Supposedly, the original masters for the 1970’s X-rated version have been lost. I saw it at a formative age and I’m pretty sure I saw the original X. I thought the lesbian rape fantasy carpet-munching gangbang was icky. They didn’t do a lot of trimming in the 70’s, if you know what I mean. I’m not sure explicit lesbian forced oral scenes were ever R-rated, not even in the 70’s, so it is probably safe to guess that is what I’ve seen. I know a number of my friends believe they have the proper director’s cut on VHS, so you can probably find one too. Just not from Barnes & Noble or Amazon.

The movie was recut in the 80’s in order to get an R-rated theatrical release. Apparently, Michael Benveniste and Howard Ziehm had spent enough on the sets and special effects and costumes that they felt extra pressure to make the money back. They then tried to put the naughty bits back for DVD release, but supposedly couldn’t find them all.

We’re on an evil ruler kick this month here at Sexy Fandom (that’s the royal ruler “we” by the way), so let me mention William Dennis Hunt who played Emperor Wang the Perverted. He went on to have a recurring role on NYPD Blue and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, among other credits including Babylon 5 and Critters 3. Anyone who says being in a sex flick will stop your dreams of Hollywood cold … well, anyone who says that just doesn’t know Hollywood. The star of the film didn’t do as much later on as Wang, but Flesh Gordon aka Jason Williams did star in the underrated Vampire at Midnight which I would recommend. Moral of the story is that it is better to be an imperial ruler of the universe, although it is best to be the maverick bad boy friend. Just ask Mark Hamill.

Sensible Erection Likes Sexy Fandom!

— Molly Case on December 17th, 2004 @ 6:48 pm Real Life

I just got a message that I’m on Sensible Erection, the site for intelligent people with enormous genitalia. Sensible Erection just wrote about Sexy Fandom calling it “A promising new blog on alternitive sexuality; featuring Gothic and role-playing porn including star-trek and period reanactments. Interesting if nothing else.” I’m excited that people are enjoying my blog.

Okay, I admit I’ve fantasized about rough Klingon mating habits on more than one occasion, but I kind of wanted this Sexy Trek Klingon to have better makeup and have it in more places. That said, it is still kind of fun to imagine roll-playing some kinky fun in a hotel storeroom at a con.

Suicide Girls Are Red Shirts

— Molly Case on November 26th, 2004 @ 4:37 am Web Sites

I’m excited to be having mainstream impact just a few months into doing this blog. I’m tickled pink that a girl named Edea just appeared on Suicide Girls in a Star Trek uniform. I admit that the same girl has a set which they call pothead where she appears to be, err, smoking pot and lists her fantasy as “To smoke up with Voltaire” although she does not specify whether she means Voltaire the philosopher or the singer or the model. She also says the five items she can not live without are bong, green stuff, vibrator. I’m only counting three there, but she also lists The Matrix and Futurama as two of her favorite things and that is just plain goodness, so who is to quibble. Wouldn’t it be weird if my little hobby blog got to be really huge and influential. So far I am honestly a little overwhelmed. It is funny that Fleshbot mentioned the Star Trek influence in my little site less than two weeks ago and it seems to have created this huge wave of Star Trekness in the porn world. A lot of other sites have mentioned specifically the Star Trek parts of Sexy Fandom since Fleshbot did. So now where is my all long-haired guys in plate armor all the time site? That is the influence I really want to have. For those less dorky than I am, I feel the need to mention that Edea is a character from Final Fantasy VIII and is the subject of frequent cosplay mischief.

Fleshbot Sex Blog Likes Me

— Molly Case on November 14th, 2004 @ 3:19 pm Real Life

I just got my first press coverage for Sexy Fandom. The Fleshbot sexblog, which is a really big deal, said, “Sexy Trekkies: We know we’ve said in the past that Star Trek porn really isn’t our thing, but we’re starting to gain a new appreciation for chicks in polyester space suits thanks to Molly Case and her Sexy Fandom site, one of our favorite new pornblog discoveries. With descriptions like “Apparently two lesbian crew members of the SS Enterprise have beamed down to an earthlike planet,” how could we resist? Beam us up!”

Fleshbot called my site one of their favorite new pornblog discoveries. I’m really excited. I think of SexyFandom, and actually Fleshbot as well, as more sexblogs than pornblogs because Fleshbot only shows topless nudity and I don’t show any nudity at all. That’s just nitpicking though. We both link to the good stuff and I am thrilled to be getting written about already.

Femme Slash Fiction

— Molly Case on September 30th, 2004 @ 2:06 am General Fandom

Femmeslash (also known as femslash, girlslash, yuri, or shoujo-ai) is a variation on the traditional definition of slash — homosexual/homoerotic/homoromantic fanfiction. Femmeslash is, essentially, putting female characters together in a romantic and/or sexual relationship.

Femmeslash is generally considered to be rarer than male/male slash, but there have been more and more fandoms that are femmeslash-positive, including Harry Potter, ER, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and, the first primarily femmeslash fandom, Xena: Warrior Princess, as well as making headways into the older, more well-known fandoms, such as Star Trek, The X-Files, and comic books.

Femmeslash is a wide and varied genre, ranging from epic romances to hardcore pornography to lighthearted romps to darkest horror. Also varied is its audience — while it may seem that the ideal audience for femmeslash is a purely heterosexual male audience (as most female/female pornography is geared towards the male viewer), femmeslash has a very strong and outspoken female audience. Slash Fiction

— Molly Case on September 28th, 2004 @ 11:36 pm General Fandom

Slash fiction is fan fiction, describing gay pairings between media characters, often in explicit detail, and very frequently outside the canon of the source. The name arises from the use of the slash character in phrases such as “Kirk/Spock/Figwit” to describe the stories. (“Kirk/Spock” is widely thought to be the first type of slash fiction, first appearing in the 1970s in Star Trek fanzines.)

Slash fiction was actually the very first type of fan fiction known to have been created for Star Trek, with many show principals recalling letters sent in from mostly females. Slash writers were the first to call themselves “trekkies”, a reference to “groupies” and stand as marked contrast to the modern more male-dominated trekker phenomenon. At least one officially licenced Trek novel was published containing slash elements: the 1985 novel Killing Time by Della van Hise. According to the Web site The Complete Starfleet Library, an early draft of the novel was erroneously published in which the author had included homosexual subtext between Kirk and Spock before an editor requested a revised version (which was subsequently published in place of the original version).

Today slash fiction is written, or at least explored, by a wide variety of people of all backgrounds and orientations. Horror author Poppy Z. Brite’s works, along with others, could be conidered slash fiction by extension, although several of her characters are already gay and there is little need to further pair them off. (via Wikipedia)
