[...] Speaking of Amelia G and Blue Blood, this week Amelia G launched a personal site at AmeliaG.com as a sort of central space for her varied works. I like that she collected up her blog entries from different sites and combined all of them from the last four years on AmeliaG.com. My favorite part of the site is her photography portfolio which features many of the bands who do the science fiction and comic book convention circuit, including The Misfits, gODHEAD, and Combichrist. The personal pics section is also really fun. The professional photos are captioned, but the snapshots are not. Some people of fandom note I am able to pick out from the casual party pictures are Sean Abley from Socket and Gay of the Dead, Chris Wylde from Film Fakers, Clint Catalyst from America’s Next Top Model, one of my very favorite authors Thomas S. Roche, and Chewbacca. Tags: amelia-g, authors, blog, chewbacca, chris wylde, clint catalyst, combichrist, film fakers, gay, godhead, misfits, photos, pictures, science-fiction, sean abley, thomas roche [...]

[...] How is it possible that the first lucky thirteen episodes of Tripping the Rift came out on DVD a few weeks ago and I failed to mention it? Perhaps because I was not really updating for a little while there or perhaps because the show is not too awfully good. I admit I might be biased because I might know some people who work on the show. It just seems like TTR should be a tremendous show, yet it seems to miss the mark somehow. There is the brainy but nearly naked fembot hottie who looks like she could definitely beat the Svedka Grl in a screw off. There is the hackeresque teen reptile goth boy who masturbates to net porn. There is the fat warty centaur chick with too few teeth and too many breasts. There is the gold robot who makes C3PO seem like an Adam Carolla fan. The arch enemies are alien clowns. The whole thing is presided over by Chode, a short purple alien with tentacles on his head and it is strongly implied that he regularly inserts multiple head tentacles into the aforementioned hottie robobabe. Okay, the show is not as go0d as it should be. The alien clowns would make any good juggalo (not to be confused with juggies) cringe and the plots are beyond lame. But the show is so conceptually funny that it is watchable anyway. You can view the trailer at this link. Related posts: [...]

[...] It is pretty common for people to forget it is April first and believe various peculiar stories printed by their favorite, usually accurate publications. So I’m only amused and not disturbed that so many of you believed that Sexy Fandom was acquired by The Science Fiction Channel. I’m a little disappointed, however, by how many people wrote and told me essentially to stay strong against any sell-out criticisms because, no matter how much the blog got sucky, the important thing was that I was making a lot of money.
[...] Robert Lusk, vice president of sales and marketing for Alienware, has been touting the high end computer manufacturer’s new Star Wars licensing deal in the press this past week. Yes, Star Wars fans, it is true. You can now use the force of your Star Wars Platinum Card to purchase an Alienware desktop machine with lowrider airbrush style Star Wars art on the side, Star Wars desktop graphics and skins, and (as if you didn’t have this already) a membership in the Star Wars fan club. Not that having Ewan MacGregor’s light saber on the side of one’s machine would be anything but a good thing. Related posts: [...]
