Cocktail Fairy

absinthe_600_986_sChasing Fairies. It’s rumored that once drank the person will be intoxicated and hallucinations can occur as well hence he’ll be chasing the green fairy. We’ll explore and talk about something different, instead of talking the typical movie character or anime cosplay, this time we’ll talk about an alcoholic drink.

So our “cosplay” topic for today is the Absinthe. Absinthe is historically described as a distilled, highly alcoholic beverage. It is an anise-flavoured spirit derived from botanicals, including the flowers and leaves of Artemisia absinthium (“grand wormwood”), together with green anise, sweet fennel, and other medicinal and culinary herb.

Our cosplayer for today is Yaya Han. She is a costume designer, model and cosplay entertainer with over a decade of experience. After discovering cosplay at Anime Expo in 1999, she quickly absorbed the heart and soul of costume design and creation. To this day Yaya has made close to 300 costumes in the genres of anime/manga, comic books, video games, sci-fi and her own original designs.

So now let’s explore of the cosplayer’s thought. Yaya Han got hold of an Absinthe from the Czech Republic back in 2004 and have really enjoyed this delicate yet powerful green drink since. Yaya Han was also thought of the rumors or lore of the drinks regarding the chasing of the green fairy and ever since then Yaya Han thought doing this cosplay of the Green Fairy solely for the drink and to express her delicateness of it. I love how she expressed the green fairy and be something that will be chased by both drunk and sober persons. What’s noticeable here in this cosplay is the she made the skirt like leaves and the color shade of it having the gradiance of blue and green really explodes.

Yaya Han is an exceptional cosplayer with a great talent for both modelling and tailoring her costumes let’s at least support her by following her on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube Channel and DeviantArt. Let’s also support her photographer Ljinto.
