What’s your Lineage? I remember playing this game with my “so called” high end PC during that time. I felt really cool being dark, cool and strong. I chose the very “cool” class, which is the Assassin – Phantom Ranger because I felt cool. Lineage 2 was one of the first game to introduce the “swimming” feature where the players can also battle underwater unlike other games where your character literally just walks underwater. The feature around that time was very fascinating. So since I wanted to be cool and dark I want to talk about a cosplay revolving around that.

darkelf-printThe only Cool class in terms of appearance in my opinion is the Dark Elf. Dark Elves excel at the dark arts, including death magic and shadow empowerment. Dark Elves were once part of the Elf race. They split off to pursue their worship of Shilen and dark magic, but Shilen proved to be too evil, and the Dark Elves now stand on their own. Dark Elves were once part of the Elven tribes, but were banished after they learned black magic in order to obtain the power to fight Humans. They lost the battle, but continued to study the dark arts. Dark Elves have similar features to their Elven brethren, but are taller, have blue-gray skin, and silver hair. They follow Shilen, the goddess of Death.

Our cosplayer for today is Yaya Han. She is a costume designer, model and cosplay entertainer with over a decade of experience. After discovering cosplay at Anime Expo in 1999, she quickly absorbed the heart and soul of costume design and creation. To this day Yaya has made close to 300 costumes in the genres of anime/manga, comic books, video games, sci-fi and her own original designs.

This costume was made for Dragoncon. It seems that Yaya Han wasn’t the only one who made this due to the help of Riddle, who is one of her friends. The design for this cospaly started from a sketch, the top, thigh higs and sleeves were from foam. Yaya Han used a scale male which was part of the costume. Her friend, Riddle, molded the filigree pieces for the torso and cast a pair of shoulder armor which Yaya Han designed and prototyped. Overall my most favorite part of this costume is the weapons, gods it was well made and specially the body paint to capture blue skin of the dark elves.

Yaya Han is an exceptional cosplayer with a great talent for both modelling and tailoring her costumes let’s at least support her by following her on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube Channel and DeviantArt. Let’s also support her photographer Joseph Chilin.
